Eco-Friendly Habits - Citrus Vinegar

Updated: Mar 6

As I implement more eco-friendly and sustainable habits into my routine/lifestyle, I thought it would be a good idea to bring you along for the journey. I wanted to begin with something that was easy, low-waste, and of course, non-toxic.

All you will need is :

  • Skin peels - Orange, Lemon, or Lime. (I read somewhere that you can let the skin dry out before building your jar but I think I still want everything to be nice and juicy.)

  • White Vinegar

  • A jar with a secured top

  • Place citrus skin in jar

  • Fill with vinegar until you cover all of the skins.

  • Store it in a dark area for 2 weeks of weeks.

Strain out contents into a spray bottle or another bottle

Note: If you're using a metal top, be sure to place parchment paper in-between the lid and the covered peels

This can be used for many purposes aside from cleaning. When diluted with water, It can be used as a hair rinse and even an insect repeller.

So simple, so easy and also non-toxic natural mixture that will leave your home looking and smelling great!

I hope you enjoyed this short but sweet read. Let me know what other habits you would like for me to explore.
